DANIEL

 His name was chosen as a tribute to a line of his ancestors with that name and to the biblical Daniel.

The name Daniel means God is my judge.

Daniel's mother used to recite an old saying to him on his name day the eleventh of December:

Daniel profet inleder den tid då djur och människor bör leva i frid
